Movie Idea #1

June 27, 2008

Movie is a heist, crime, action type.

There are three main characters. In the beginning of the movie, each character is driving or walking to meet up with the others at a coffee shop or restaurant or diner or something. On the way the camera focuses on each character. One character is listening to smooth jazz like Miles or Coltrane. Another is listening to hard core gangster rap. Another can be listening to reggae. They all arrive and start talking. Throughout the movie, there are flashbacks to the crime/heist. During the part that each one carried out, their respective musical style plays in the background, but the character is never shown. The cool jazz might be playing while the results of a precise safe cracking or expert break in are shown. The gangsta rap might be played in the background while the remnants of a violent shootout are shown. The music should line up somewhat with the type of act. Violent rap = violent shootout. Jazz=precision, discipline. The music keys what the characters did, but they never actually have to be shown doing any of the crimes. Story line can be figured out later.

Moonlighting as a Cop on a Motorbike

June 21, 2008

No dream sequence to report yet from me, but here’s a rainbow of a toy that brought a softer nothingness to this week’s late hours. Since I have enough beach in my hair now that the Sandman doesn’t feel the need with my pillow anymore, I’m testing new ways to divide the days. I’ve found that meditation on a simple clear moon is enough to keep the bats away. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

It was all a dream….

June 20, 2008

So this song came to me in a dream. In this dream I was leaving a restaurant with a bunch of my friends from high school, and we spotted another guy that was a few years older than us, but had also gone to our school. He walks by and all my friends start laughing. I ask what was so funny and they say, “Didn’t you hear, dude?”

“No,” I say.

“That guy accidently cut off his own penis!”

“Whatttt??”

“Yeah, man.”

At this point, my friend, Chris, takes out an acoustic guitar and begins strumming the very chords that you will hear should you listen to this song. My other friend, Jeff, takes the lead on the vocals and sings the words to the first little stanza in the song about the kung fu knife. On the last line of the stanza about a dozen of my friends join in the chorus of saying, “It was quite sharp.” So all of that is verbatim from my R.E.M.’d mind. The second stanza I just made up to make the song a little longer. Enjoy, or don’t.
